Robinhood is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to support new products and strategic transactions at its Chicago location. Robinhood aims to democratize finance and operates within the evolving financial sector. In this role, the professional will analyze emerging scenarios, determine appropriate accounting treatments, and assist in structuring deals and product offerings from an accounting perspective.
This position is suited for an analytical professional capable of working cross-functionally with groups such as Product, Legal, Tax, Finance, and external auditors. The individual will ensure that accounting practices match the rapid pace of the business while addressing complex and ambiguous situations.
The role operates on an on-site basis. The successful candidate will contribute to technical research, draft position papers, and integrate accounting conclusions consistently across financial statements, disclosures, and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical accounting research and draft documentation for new products and strategic transactions
- Engage early with product and deal teams to review proposed structures and define accounting implications
- Analyze emerging product categories with developing authoritative guidance to reach defensible conclusions
- Partner cross-functionally with legal, tax, finance, and reporting teams to integrate accounting conclusions
- Provide guidance on revenue recognition, digital assets, consolidation, VIE evaluations, and derivatives
Requirements
- Possess five to eight years of progressive experience in technical accounting
- Bring public accounting background from a Big 4 or national firm
- Demonstrate prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting technical accounting policies and procedures
- Show thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research accounting literature
