Twilio is hiring a Senior Tax and Compliance Analyst (Payroll) to oversee payroll tax compliance, regulatory adherence, and mobility rules across the US, Canada, and LATAM. Operating within a remote-first work model, this position reports directly to the Senior Manager Americas Payroll.
This role is designed for professionals who want to shape global workforce mobility strategies while managing complex tax laws, social security frameworks, and risk mitigation in a multinational technology environment. The successful candidate will design scalable processes, partner with external auditors, and ensure accurate tax withholdings for a fast-growing employee base.

Responsibilities
- Manage payroll tax compliance, filings, and reconciliations across the US, Canada, and LATAM
- Monitor employee movement across US state lines and international borders to maintain accurate tax withholding
- Evaluate corporate tax footprint implications tied to remote worker locations
- Apply local social security taxes and international totalization agreements correctly
- Track modifications to tax laws, statutory rates, and local compliance rules in active jurisdictions
- Serve as the primary liaison for tax authorities, external auditors, and local payroll partners
- Direct year-end tax reporting procedures, covering US W-2s, Canadian T4s, and local LATAM statutory filings
- Develop scalable internal automated workflows for mobile employee tax adjustments
Requirements
- Over six years of payroll tax and compliance experience, preferably in a high-growth technology company
- Demonstrated expertise in US federal, state, and local taxes, alongside Canadian provincial taxes
- Advanced knowledge regarding multi-state taxation, trailing liabilities, and cross-border remote work risks
- Familiarity with global payroll platforms such as Workday, One Source Virtual, ADP, and Deel
- Ability to interpret complex statutory tax laws into clear corporate policies
Qualifications
- Familiarity with LATAM payroll regulations in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia
- Certified Payroll Professional designation or an equivalent international certification
- Experience handling compliance for equity compensation such as RSUs and stock options across multiple tax jurisdictions
