The fulfillment services division is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to direct the Core Picking engineering unit. This impactful position involves owning the technical strategy, scalability, and system stability behind core shopper picking functions. The leader will guide a group of ten or more engineers to build efficient tools for shoppers and maintain enterprise-grade standards for retail partners.

Responsibilities
- Formulate, articulate, and execute the technical vision and roadmap supporting corporate product strategy
- Oversee roadmap execution to deliver key business outcomes through sound technical and product choices
- Establish best practices for production services to guarantee enterprise-grade experiences for retail partners
- Mentor, coach, and manage a team of over ten engineers creating picking software for shoppers
- Drive recruitment and hiring activities to assemble a high-performing engineering unit
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 4 years of engineering management experience, including leading teams of 15 or more and shipping complex consumer or enterprise products
- Proven background as a hands-on technical leader at a Staff level or higher
- Capacity to design and deliver strategic engineering roadmaps aligned with business goals
- Structured and proactive communication skills along with cross-functional leadership ability
Qualifications
- Experience overseeing multiple teams or managing other managers, such as scaling an early-stage group to 10 or more engineers
- Background in supervising engineering units responsible for mission-critical business systems
- Track record of developing enterprise-grade software architectures
- Technical familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Go, Swift, or Kotlin
