Chime is hiring a Senior Data Scientist, Finance & Strategy for a remote position. Chime operates as a financial technology enterprise providing accessible, helpful, and cost-free core banking services through user-friendly platforms and digital tools to help individuals attain financial wellness.

This position acts as an analytical collaborator for the Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations divisions. Rather than focusing on A/B testing or experimentation, the job centers on business outcomes, operating key performance indicators, financial metrics, and strategic investigations. The ideal candidate pairs extreme precision with agility, possessing the ability to handle high-stakes projects on fast deadlines.

In this role, the analyst connects member engagement, product usage, and user growth to essential financial indicators. Duties involve assisting with quarterly earnings documents, shareholder announcements, public disclosures, and corporate disclosures. The professional will investigate performance drivers, explain metric shifts to executives, and deliver structured insights regarding complex business questions across multiple departments, including Marketing, Finance, Product, Operations, and Risk.

Responsibilities

  • Build a comprehensive enterprise view connecting member metrics to vital financial indicators
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations to produce quarterly earnings materials and public disclosures
  • Ensure externally shared metrics are consistently defined, accurate, and rigorously verified
  • Analyze metric fluctuations, identify trends early, and translate findings for senior leaders
  • Partner with Corporate Strategy on high-priority projects addressing ambiguous business questions
  • Work cross-functionally across Finance, Product, Risk, Marketing, and Operations departments
  • Deliver urgent analyses during earnings cycles while maintaining strict precision
  • Develop reusable and durable data models and reporting structures

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience delivering data analyses for executive leadership
  • Expert-level Structured Query Language skills
  • Proficiency in Python for analytical tasks
  • Strong financial literacy regarding financial statements, unit economics, and key investor performance indicators
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to absolute accuracy
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize quickly, and perform under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling capabilities for senior leadership audiences
  • Track record of establishing trusted relationships and working cross-functional projects

Qualifications

  • Prior background in investment banking or management consulting
  • Familiarity with public company disclosures and earnings reporting
  • FinTech or financial services industry experience
  • Familiarity with Hex
  • Experience constructing data models using dbt
  • Fluency in analytics tools and AI coding assistance including Cursor and Claude Code
