The organization seeks a Government Affairs Manager II for the Midwest and Central Region to direct state and local public policy initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Lead state and local government affairs across the midwest United States to educate policymakers on business impacts
  • Design and execute legislative, regulatory, and political strategies including hearings and testimony
  • Represent the company within midwestern and central region trade associations and industry coalitions
  • Develop policy solutions and advocacy campaigns alongside internal legal, policy research, and public engagement teams
  • Inform cross-functional stakeholders on regulatory matters through weekly reports and other updates
  • Manage annual government affairs budgets and external consultants

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in state or local government, public policy, or corporate government relations
  • Established network of policymaker contacts with the ability to interact with elected officials and executives
  • Detailed knowledge of state and local lawmaking and regulatory procedures
  • Strategic thinking capability combined with refined oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure while balancing short-term and long-term goals
  • Resourceful and entrepreneurial mindset focused on taking action
  • Willingness to travel frequently
