Zoox is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst to join its central Finance Operations team in a hybrid capacity. This position acts as a primary reviewer for purchase requisitions, ensuring that every financial commitment complies with internal policies and U.S. GAAP standards. The person in this role will report directly to the Manager of Finance Operations and collaborate daily with various departments, including Engineering, Operations, G&A, FP&A, and Accounting.
This opportunity is well-suited for professionals with a solid background in procure-to-pay processes, financial compliance, and enterprise resource planning systems. Daily duties span transaction reviews, pre-approval budget checks, contract structure analysis, open purchase order maintenance, and month-end close support. Ideal candidates bring relevant experience in finance operations, procurement, accounting, or FP&A, alongside advanced Excel capabilities and familiarity with major ERP and spend management platforms. Responsibilities
- Review purchase requisitions to verify alignment with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Perform pre-approval compliance checks by comparing purchase orders against forecasts and budgets, escalating issues to FP&A lead analysts when necessary
- Perform Forecast versus Actuals analysis during monthly and quarterly financial closes
- Examine agreements and contracts to determine proper purchase requisition structure and accounting codes
- Collaborate with business owners to correct incomplete purchase requisitions and advise internal teams on policy requirements
- Manage open purchase order cleanup, aging analysis, and reconciliation with requesters
- Assist with month-end close by supplying receipt data to Accounting and identifying unreceived goods and services for accruals
- Create and maintain tracking tools monitoring committed spend against budget across cost centers
- Report compliance metrics such as turnaround times, error rates, and exception volumes to finance leadership
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative discipline
- Demonstrate at least two years of relevant work experience in FP&A, accounting, procurement, or finance operations
- Possess a strong grasp of U.S. GAAP, specifically regarding expense classification and capitalization
- Bring practical experience utilizing a major enterprise resource planning system
- Show proficiency in procurement software or spend management tools
- Display advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and dataset analysis
- Exhibit interpersonal and communication abilities to clarify accounting policies for non-finance colleagues
Qualifications
- Prior public accounting background, with Big 4 experience preferred
- Background working in high-growth startup or public company environments
- Familiarity with fulfillment or manufacturing accounting practices
- Experience assisting with procure-to-pay system implementations or policy rollouts
