Responsibilities
- Oversee the underwriting and credit risk validation sector within the Model Risk Management team
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quantitative professionals while directing strategy for the domain
- Perform independent validations of advanced machine learning models related to underwriting and credit risk management
- Evaluate model conceptual soundness, data integrity, and performance stability via testing, reviews, and monitoring
- Identify model weaknesses and collaborate with model owners and developers to resolve findings
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and refine the enterprise-wide Model Risk Management framework
- Coordinate with Accounting, Internal Controls, and Compliance teams to meet regulatory and internal expectations
Requirements
- At least 9 years of professional experience in model development, model validation, or quantitative analytics
- Deep understanding of machine learning modeling, underwriting, and credit risk management
- Advanced scripting ability in Python
- Expertise in SQL for manipulating and analyzing large-scale, complex datasets
- Proven track record of hiring, managing, and mentoring quantitative teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctor of Philosophy degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or Data Science
