The Fraud team collaborates across departments—including Engineering, Product, Machine Learning, and Operations—to maintain a protected user environment for consumer finance offerings.
This role suits an experienced analytics professional who can manage deposit product fraud performance while balancing loss prevention with customer experience and product growth. Core duties include building data pipelines using tools like DBT, designing performance metrics, developing recurring monitoring dashboards, and conducting deep-dive investigations into portfolio shifts or control gaps. The individual will also formulate and test fraud strategies, rules, and decision thresholds while evaluating emerging data signals related to device risk, account takeover, and identity verification.
Compensation for this role spans a base salary range of USD 164,000 to USD 245,000 per year, depending on geographic location and experience. Total compensation also incorporates equity rewards, monthly health, wellness, and tech stipends, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with fully subsidized premiums for workers and dependents. New team members generally start near the bottom of the designated pay scale, and visa sponsorship is not offered for this opening.
Responsibilities
- Own and monitor fraud performance metrics for depository products, covering approval rates, false positives, fraud losses, and user friction.
- Build and maintain data transformation pipelines and scalable models utilizing DBT.
- Establish trusted analytical datasets and performance indicators for operational efficiency and loss rates.
- Create regular scorecards, dashboards, and monitoring systems to track portfolio health and emerging risk patterns.
- Perform deep-dive investigations to identify control gaps, false positives, and performance shifts, translating findings into recommendations.
- Design and optimize fraud rules, decision strategies, policies, and thresholds that balance risk reduction with growth and user experience.
- Assess new data signals and sources to enhance detection of transaction risks, device risks, and account takeovers.
- Execute and measure testing for strategy updates, policy adjustments, and rule launches.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, Fraud Operations, and Risk teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of analytics experience.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Working familiarity with payment processing fundamentals and industry risk trends.
