Job Description

Zoox creates an autonomous mobility service designed for urban environments. The organization is currently hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager, EE Systems to direct electrical and electrical-distribution program execution on vehicle projects developed alongside external partners. This position suits professionals who can manage cross-company engineering workflows, oversee complex change management, and align internal module owners with strict program milestones.

In this capacity, the individual will serve as the primary contact for all electrical scope and guide the EE segment of the engineering RASIC from the conceptual stage through industrialization. Responsibilities involve evaluating low-voltage harness proposals against internal best practices, tracking change requests, and directing multi-company engineering data exchanges. Additionally, the selected professional will coordinate various work packages such as antenna integration, EMC verification, and thermal validation.

Candidates must bring substantial automotive background with direct oversight of electrical distribution architecture, alongside expertise in handling international development partners. The hybrid position requires navigating ambiguous scopes and delivering concise program updates to executives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary electrical point of contact for external partners and manage the engineering RASIC from concept to industrialization
  • Evaluate partner-proposed designs against internal design standards and track change requests for low-voltage harnesses
  • Oversee cross-company engineering data exchange, CAD toolchain version compatibility, and configuration control of low-voltage harness drawings
  • Coordinate electrical work packages including antenna integration, EMC verification, regression testing, thermal validation, and electrical mounting hardware
  • Establish and monitor the electrical engineering milestone plan against program gates and material deadlines
  • Deliver weekly program updates and prepare electrical content for executive reviews

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or engineering management within the automotive sector
  • Direct ownership history involving vehicle electrical architecture or electrical distribution systems
  • Experience coordinating external engineering partners, Tier 1 suppliers, or service providers across multiple time zones
  • Working fluency in PLM workflows and engineering change management, including EBOM and drawing release control
  • Demonstrated experience in low voltage harness design and release within an OEM or major automotive manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency with root-cause methodologies such as 8D and Fishbone analysis, as well as risk analysis tools including FTA and FMEA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Practical familiarity with CATIA V5 and V6 along with data exchange across mismatched OEM and supplier CAD toolchains
  • Familiarity with USCAR and IPC/WHMA-A-620 wire harness design and validation standards
  • Knowledge of CISPR 25 vehicle EMC standards
