Responsibilities
- Define technical strategies and map them to business-impacting projects over a yearly horizon
- Partner with product management, analytics, and design teams to manage technical trade-offs and risks
- Establish operational processes, testing standards, monitoring, triage rotations, and incident playbooks
- Set design and code review benchmarks for the team and advocate for best practices organization-wide
- Mentor team members through guidance, feedback, and technical leadership
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of mobile application development and architecture experience
- At least four years of experience working with React Native
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Practical background utilizing React Native and Expo, including migrating or authoring native modules
- Demonstrated experience managing complex state within React applications
- Ability to execute React Native SDK major upgrades and debug across the JavaScript and native boundary under the New Architecture
- Familiarity with mobile testing frameworks such as Maestro or Appium, Sentry or Crashlytics for crash reporting, and feature flagging platforms like Statsig or LaunchDarkly
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, along with judgment on guardrails and quality standards
- Proven history of leading a team to deliver large projects or major system components
