Responsibilities
- Outline technical strategy for your team spanning a year-long horizon and align it with key business objectives
- Partner with product management, analytics, and design functions during the product development lifecycle
- Advocate for operational processes and technical solutions to function as a force-multiplier
- Manage system operations and availability through alerts, playbooks, triage rotations, and monitoring tools
- Establish code review and design standards while promoting them through writing and tech talks
- Guide and mentor team members by offering feedback and setting an example
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of background building, designing, and launching scalable backend applications with languages like Kotlin or Python
- Extensive history creating highly available distributed architectures utilizing tools such as Kubernetes, AWS, Spark, and MySQL
- Background in ledgering, financial systems, treasury, or related spaces requiring high reliability and data precision
- History of deploying major system components, features, or deprecating older functionality by creating execution plans
- Reside in one of the eligible Canadian regions: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan
