Affirm is hiring a remote Staff Product Manager for Affirm Bank to help build and scale a brand-new financial business line from the ground up. In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end consumer deposit offering, operationalize a newly established bank charter within the corporate ecosystem, and integrate bank operations smoothly with existing platform engineering and credit products. You will act as the single-threaded product owner for deposits, loan originations, bank compliance, and operational workflows. This position is well-suited for an experienced product leader with a background in regulated financial services who enjoys complex, ambiguous initiatives and cross-functional collaboration. Affirm operates as a remote-first organization, allowing employees to work from almost anywhere within the country of employment, with occasional in-person onboarding required for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single-threaded product owner for deposits, loan originations, bank operations, and compliance
- Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Branding, Content, and Design teams to shape consumer deposit experiences and go-to-market strategies
- Manage the product roadmap for deposits, scaling from initial launch toward a multi-billion-dollar deposit base
- Collaborate internally and with external vendors to ensure alignment on vision, regulatory readiness, process maturity, and vendor integrations for KYC, fraud prevention, and deposit cores
- Communicate strategy and tradeoffs to senior leadership, the Bank Board, and cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Treasury, and Capital Markets
Requirements
- Have at least 6 years of product management experience operating as a strategic, independent leader on complex and ambiguous initiatives
- Demonstrate hands-on experience launching or growing a regulated consumer-facing financial services product with go-to-market execution
- Show proven program leadership at scale with direct exposure to executive stakeholders and high-visibility cross-functional launches
- Demonstrate strong technical fluency in system design, data models, API architecture, and core banking platform integrations
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills to explain financial and regulatory concepts to varied audiences
- Be proficient with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor and Claude
