The Ads Data Science team relies on data foundations, statistical methods, and experimentation to maximize advertiser value.
Reddit is currently hiring a Staff Data Scientist, Ads to focus on measurement, identity, and signal quality within the advertising organization. This individual will take ownership of complex problem spaces, guide strategic direction, and lead cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, product, and sales teams. The position suits experienced applied scientists who can drive methodology, mentor team members, and operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop probabilistic models for identity resolution and link on-platform with off-platform actions while honoring privacy
- Manage the statistical rigor behind Brand and Conversion Lift products and build experimentation infrastructure
- Define strategy for new signal sources and mathematically quantify their value to improve bidding efficiency and return on ad spend
- Design objective functions and truth sets to validate identity, measure incremental impact, and train predictive models
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and sales teams while setting a high technical bar through mentorship
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research
- Either 10 plus years of industry experience in applied or data science for Master's holders, or 6 plus years for Ph.D. holders
- Deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem
- Advanced proficiency in Python or R and SQL
- Strong background in experimental design, causal inference, or A/B testing methodologies
Qualifications
- Expertise in measurement and experimentation at scale focusing on lift and attribution
- Experience with identity graph creation and resolution methodology and infrastructure
- Familiarity with predictive modeling under signal loss conditions
- Experience utilizing machine learning or optimization techniques
