Responsibilities
- Build prototypes for new model architectures powering Pinterest Canvas
- Engage in academic research readings, team discussions, and strategic planning for visual generative technology
- Gather visual training data to execute targeted fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback
- Share and promote completed research via conference submissions, paper publications, and blog articles
- Provide mentorship to research interns and junior research engineers within Pinterest Labs
- Contribute to the development of core multimodal text and image embeddings
Requirements
- At least five years of professional computer vision experience in an industry setting
- Practical background working with generative computer vision models, specifically diffusion text-to-image models
- Capability to independently implement and test complex models
- Ability to travel to the office for collaboration one to two times per quarter
Qualifications
- Master of Science or Ph.D. degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- Authored publications appearing at top-tier machine learning conferences
- Familiarity utilizing AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Codex for development and testing tasks
- Experience using large language model productivity tools for workflow acceleration, documentation search, and experiment analysis
