The company is currently hiring a Sr. Data Scientist to help shape both consumer-facing and business-facing product offerings. This position suits a quantitative professional who is excited to apply algorithms, statistical methods, and experimentation to tackle complex engineering problems. In this capacity, the incoming professional will introduce scientific rigor to real-world products utilized by hundreds of millions of merchants, advertisers, creators, and users globally. Working closely with diverse cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, design, and research, the individual will influence product development and deliver data-driven insights. The position involves leveraging artificial intelligence tools to accelerate task execution, synthesize information, and streamline daily workflows while maintaining accountability for final deliverables. Based in Ontario, the role follows an in-person collaboration model requiring office attendance one to two times per half. Responsibilities
- Develop instrumentation and experimentation standards and share them with engineering teams
- Apply scientific methods and statistical techniques to product creation, development, and improvement
- Build and prototype iterative analysis pipelines to generate insights at scale
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers
- Utilize AI tools to speed up execution, draft prototypes, and explore alternative approaches
- Leverage AI to synthesize information, summarize themes, and automate routine documentation and QA checks
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience analyzing data within a fast-paced, data-driven setting
- Extensive background in solving analytical problems using quantitative methods across statistics, machine learning, forecasting, or econometrics
- Demonstrated ability to apply scientific techniques to real-world problems involving web-scale data
- Familiarity with online experimentation and its potential pitfalls
- Ability to manipulate large datasets with high complexity and dimensionality
- Fluency in SQL or alternative database languages along with a scripting language like Python or R
- Strong communication skills to explain findings to both technical and non-technical partners
- Demonstrated ability to use AI for improving workflow speed and output quality while maintaining critical evaluation and verification
- Commitment to data integrity, protecting sensitive data, and remaining accountable for final decisions
Qualifications
- Experience solving problems within the digital advertising sector
- Bachelor or Master degree in Data Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
