This position focuses on helping partners and prospective clients adopt open-source platforms for initiatives such as Software Defined Vehicles, IoT, cloud, and AI. The organization operates on a globally distributed model with personnel located across more than seventy countries.
In this capacity, the professional will bridge business and technical needs by engaging with major automotive and technology partners. Responsibilities include gathering client requirements, collaborating with internal technical experts, delivering project components such as demonstrations and proofs of concept, and feeding market needs back into internal development teams. The ideal candidate blends deep technical proficiency in Linux systems and programming with strong communication skills and business acumen. Field engineering at the organization requires addressing a wide variety of complex customer inquiries spanning everything from kernel-level development down to embedded environments.

Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective clients during presales to identify requirements and present technology solutions
- Collaborate with internal specialists in fields such as cloud, Kubernetes, security, and safety to build comprehensive client solutions
- Contribute to embedded Linux project deliveries including proofs of concept and technical demonstrations
- Communicate market demands to key stakeholders and support the creation or refinement of generic market solutions
- Act as both a trusted advisor and an advocate for customers
Requirements
- Extensive Linux experience, with Debian or Ubuntu preferred
- Solid embedded Linux experience using Yocto or RTOS
- Proficiency in coding and scripting languages including Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency alongside local language skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Willingness to travel up to 30 percent of the time
- Relevant background in the automotive industry
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience with ISO26262 or ISO21434 standards
- Prior experience managing customer engagements
