The organization is currently seeking a Software Engineer - Planner GPU Compute to join the Planner Compute group, which oversees the performance execution of the motion planner—the largest single software module in the autonomy stack.
This position requires an experienced specialist in GPU performance to profile, measure, evaluate, and enhance critical GPU algorithms. Daily tasks involve handling everything from custom CUDA kernels tailored for motion planning to machine learning inference. Professionals in this role will pinpoint GPU bottlenecks, adapt the planning architecture to various hardware resources, decrease latency, and lower memory consumption while guiding peers in CUDA execution and GPU efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Analyze performance metrics to identify GPU hotspots and optimizations
- Contribute to the adaptation of the current planner to multiple GPU architectures with different resources
- Optimize machine learning models for latency and GPU memory usage
- Support engineers within Planner as a subject matter expert on CUDA and GPU performance
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience
- Strong knowledge of CUDA as applied to recent GPU microarchitectures such as Ampere and Blackwell
- Experience debugging and optimizing GPU kernels using tools like Nsight
- Strong knowledge of C++ and experience in large code bases
- Comfortable working in Linux development environments
- Experience in development, debugging, and profiling of complex multiprocess systems including robotic systems and game engines
