Vercel is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Observability team on a remote basis. Vercel acts as an agentic infrastructure provider, helping builders transition from initial concepts to production environments with an emphasis on speed, security, and developer experience. Millions of developers and prominent organizations, such as OpenAI, PayPal, and Ramp, trust the platform to build and run software.

In this position, you will build and support observability offerings that allow users to track application health and performance. This role suits professionals who want to work with large-scale data ingestion, visualization tools, and modern web frameworks while engaging with the open-source community.

Depending on your geographic location relative to company offices in San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin, the position may require in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday if you reside within a commutable distance. Otherwise, the role functions as fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale data ingestion, storage, and processing originating from distributed systems
  • Build visualization tools that offer insights into application performance and behavior
  • Integrate observability capabilities with build systems, frameworks, and frontend tools
  • Write well-documented code and maintain reliability through testing
  • Collaborate across product, design, and infrastructure groups
  • Participate in open-source projects and community discussions
  • Gather feedback from users to drive ongoing product innovation

Requirements

  • At least five years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency in Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript alongside frontend development tool familiarity
  • Practical background working with columnar databases like Clickhouse or Tinybird
  • Experience processing large data volumes utilizing streaming services or messaging systems at scale
  • Prior participation or contributions in open source projects
  • Familiarity with web application performance optimization and frontend frameworks
