This capacity serves as a core pillar of the Prime Brokerage sector, allowing clients to apply leverage to trades and earn yield on holdings.
The role entails taking ownership of vital backend applications that generate recurring revenue, stimulate trading volume, and retain institutional assets within the ecosystem. The work environment is described as fast-paced and demanding, featuring quarterly in-person gatherings known as surges for collaborative efforts. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver new financing features and products from initial architecture to production launch
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and frameworks for loan lifecycle management, risk calculations, and real-time position tracking
- Improve developer tooling, testing infrastructure, monitoring, and operational reliability
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, Operations, and engineering groups to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Lead technical initiatives aimed at increasing system resilience and lowering operational risk
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of backend software engineering experience with production ownership of financial or high-reliability workloads
- Demonstrated background in designing, building, and scaling service-oriented architectures utilizing Go, Java, or an equivalent backend language
- Practical background with distributed systems where data integrity, availability, and correctness are critical
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical design reviews, and elevating code quality
- Familiarity with relational data stores, gRPC/Protobuf, and cloud-native observability tooling
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency
