Zoox is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Mapping Data Software team in a hybrid capacity. The organization is focused on creating a ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the associated urban mobility-as-a-service ecosystem. Within this space, the Mapping group builds essential algorithms and tools that enable vehicles to maintain accurate calibration, localization, and environmental awareness. This particular opening sits within the Road Network Interface team, which manages road network data definitions and products ranging from developer workflows to real-time on-vehicle access.
In this position, the selected engineer will focus on building the geometry algorithms that drive map data interfaces, along with the access mechanisms used by downstream consumers. Responsibilities include defining network topology, creating road network data formats, and handling validation. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain geometry algorithms that power map data interfaces

- Produce design documents, test plans, and supporting artifacts for released work
- Engage in all stages of the software development life cycle including prototyping, requirements analysis, design, writing code, and validation
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience
- Proficiency in the C++ programming language
- Solid code-quality principles covering correctness, modularity, and testability
- Strong mathematical skills with a focus on computational geometry
