This position centers on maintaining and evolving core testing infrastructure, integration frameworks, and end-to-end automation systems used across the organization. The engineer will collaborate closely with team members located in Europe, an arrangement that requires candidates to reside on the East Coast for smoother coordination. Daily responsibilities include optimizing test execution speeds, enhancing pipeline stability, managing continuous integration workflows, writing technical documentation, and participating in an on-call rotation.
The role is suited for backend software engineers who have a solid background in test automation, quality assurance methodologies, and CI pipeline management. Candidates should possess strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript, along with hands-on experience utilizing modern frameworks and cloud environments like AWS and Docker.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain integration and end-to-end test automation frameworks alongside associated continuous integration pipelines
- Design and implement technical solutions to improve test execution speed and enhance stability
- Produce technical specifications and architectural decision records while collaborating with engineers across the company
- Provide support to engineering teams by handling triage requests and sharing quality assurance best practices
- Contribute to the evolution of the overall test strategy and break down larger projects into manageable phases
- Participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
- Reside on the East Coast to facilitate collaboration with European colleagues
- Have at least 3 years of experience in test automation
- Demonstrate proficiency in both Python and TypeScript
- Possess hands-on experience with Pytest and Playwright
- Demonstrate experience building and optimizing continuous integration pipelines
- Have experience working with Docker and AWS
- Bring a strong background in quality assurance and test design methodologies
Qualifications
- Experience building or enhancing test automation frameworks and infrastructure
- Background in mobile, infrastructure, or performance test automation
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor degree in a related field
