Job Description
Figma is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to develop platforms and products that serve millions of users across the globe. The company builds a collaborative design platform that helps teams handle everything from brainstorming to code translation and AI-driven iteration. In this full-time position, you will work across the entire technology stack to create dependable user experiences, scale infrastructure, and optimize performance for real-time collaborative applications. You will have opportunities to contribute across various teams and projects, including FigJam, Figma Slides, Figma Editor, and core infrastructure.
This role is well-suited for engineers who enjoy tackling complex technical problems and partnering closely with multidisciplinary teams encompassing product, design, research, and data. You will manage projects from initial concept through deployment and maintenance while helping guide team culture through code reviews and mentorship. Candidates can perform this work from designated United States hubs or remotely within the country.
Responsibilities
- Design, create, and launch features across the full stack from front-end interfaces to back-end architecture
- Own initiatives from initial planning and technical design through implementation, testing, and release
- Partner with product, research, design, and data teams to help shape product direction
- Monitor and maintain the reliability, security, and scalability of developed systems
- Mentor colleagues and share knowledge via pairing, design critiques, and code reviews
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience shipping and maintaining full-stack software applications in production environments
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks like React and TypeScript
- Familiarity with back-end technologies such as Python, Ruby, Go, C++, and PostgreSQL
- Ability to translate user requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted coding tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude
Qualifications
- Familiarity with C++ and WebAssembly within user-facing software
- Background in growth engineering, developer tooling, frontend platform work, payments infrastructure, or extensibility platforms
- Exposure to tools and platforms like Stripe, Snowflake, Salesforce, SAML, SCIM, or experimentation tooling
- Experience leading large-scale projects or launching zero-to-one products
