The consumer engineering division is seeking a software engineer to design and scale the features that members use to discover content, engage with others, and participate across various groups.
This central role encompasses several high-impact product areas, spanning core feeds, community presence, growth, monetization, and account security. Professionals in this position collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, machine learning experts, and frontend developers.

Responsibilities
- Translate business and user needs into reliable, low-latency technical solutions alongside cross-functional partners
- Manage the complete software lifecycle for major product initiatives from design documents and API contracts to deployment and observability
- Design, build, and assess A/B experiments utilizing tools such as BigQuery, HEX, or Firebase to analyze user behavior and retention
- Develop and maintain scalable APIs using GraphQL, REST, or gRPC alongside distributed backend services optimized for client UI performance
- Establish engineering standards, enhance developer workflows, mentor teammates, and leverage AI-integrated tools for efficiency
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on backend development experience building and running large-scale distributed serving systems in high-concurrency environments
- Proficiency in modern backend languages including Go, Python, Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++
- Expertise in designing and maintaining scalable APIs using GraphQL, REST, or gRPC for web and mobile applications
- Experience working with high-throughput caching layers and distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or PostgreSQL
