This position divides effort between building systems with Python, Jenkins, and shell scripting, implementing features directly into Ubuntu Server, managing continuous delivery pipelines, and partnering with external technology leaders. Responsibilities
- Design and construct automated, highly reliable systems for image delivery, testing, and publication
- Develop and integrate new features and improvements into Ubuntu to support public cloud users
- Collaborate proactively alongside a globally distributed team
- Write high quality code to create new features and resolve bugs
- Architect complex new systems and integrations with cloud platforms
- Review peer code and participate in architectural design discussions
- Engage with internal teams, open source communities, and commercial partners
Requirements
- Practical experience with public clouds
- Experience in Python software development on Linux
- Proficiency in at least three of the following areas: containers, devops automation, open source projects, APIs, Linux systems administration, or Python packaging
