Canonical seeks a Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Images for a remote position. In this capacity, the engineer will split time between developing build systems using Python, Jenkins, and shell scripts, implementing cloud-focused features directly within Ubuntu Server, operating continuous delivery pipelines, and collaborating with major cloud partners such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. Responsibilities involve building automated image delivery and testing pipelines, architecting system integrations, writing code to resolve issues, and participating in peer code reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and debug issues, producing code patches to resolve them
  • Review peer code contributions and engage in design conversations

Requirements

  • Interest and experience in at least three areas including containers, devops automation, open-source projects, APIs, Linux systems administration, or Python packaging
