Pinterest is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer II for tvScientific, a connected TV advertising platform purpose-built for performance marketers. In this role, the engineer will operate, scale, and enhance a cloud-native infrastructure utilizing AWS, Kubernetes, and GitOps workflows. The position is based on-site in San Francisco, California on a full-time schedule.

The successful candidate will focus on strengthening platform reliability, automation, scalability, and observability. Responsibilities include managing multi-tenant Kubernetes environments, administering deployment pipelines through ArgoCD and Helm, and handling infrastructure provisioning via Terraform and Terragrunt. The role requires participating in incident management, building CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, and minimizing manual operational tasks through scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor the reliability, availability, and performance of production platform services and infrastructure
  • Administer and scale Kubernetes environments, including multi-tenant workload support and governance
  • Execute GitOps deployment workflows utilizing ArgoCD and Helm
  • Handle infrastructure provisioning and environment changes using Terraform and Terragrunt
  • Construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes via GitHub Actions
  • Engage in incident response, root cause investigations, and follow-up improvement efforts
  • Decrease manual operational work through process automation, tooling, and scripting
  • Enhance observability frameworks across metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards
  • Implement secure secrets management, platform guardrails, and IAM-compliant operations
  • Work alongside application, platform, and security groups to optimize delivery and system reliability

Requirements

  • At least four years of professional background in Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or DevOps
  • Hands-on operational expertise with AWS in production settings
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes administration, troubleshooting, cluster operations, and tenant isolation patterns
  • Experience implementing and running ArgoCD within a GitOps framework
  • Practical background using Helm and Terraform or Terragrunt
  • Automation and scripting abilities in Python or Bash
  • Background maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions
  • Troubleshooting capability across Linux, networking, containers, distributed systems, and IAM
  • Experience with production monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
  • Ability to utilize AI tools to enhance daily workflow speed and quality while verifying outputs
