Canonical is seeking a Silicon Alliances Ecosystem Development Manager to join its remote team. The company provides open-source software and operating systems, notably publishing Ubuntu, which powers artificial intelligence, IoT, cloud computing, and enterprise initiatives. In this role, the employee will collaborate with semiconductor enterprises to merge open-source software with chip optimizations, establishing unified product pipelines, go-to-market strategies, and business frameworks. This position suits individuals fascinated by both software and hardware who possess strong communication and negotiation abilities. Team members operate within a globally distributed environment established in 2004, convening periodically in-person for company sprints. Applicants are expected in the Americas, though EMEA candidates willing to align with Americas scheduling are also welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Canonical and its software solutions directly to semiconductor partners
  • Analyze silicon partner technologies and roadmaps to discover intersections with Canonical product offerings
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across engineering, product, sales, and marketing departments to drive new business ventures
  • Define joint products, solutions, and complex programs using influencing and communication skills
  • Establish, monitor, and execute thorough project plans
  • Design joint go-to-market strategies, launch schedules, market messaging, and collateral with chip partners
  • Negotiate and finalize successful business contracts

Requirements

  • Fundamental comprehension of the semiconductor sector and its ecosystem
  • Direct customer-facing background in technology strategy, business development, or related disciplines
  • Exceptional communication skills with the capability to synthesize intricate material into key takeaways
  • Capacity to operate effectively at both tactical and strategic levels

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Engineering degree in a technology, science, or engineering field
