Zoox is seeking a Senior or Staff Technical Program Manager for Change Governance to manage product modifications from initial engineering approval to final production-line implementation. In this position, the individual acts as the primary contact for governance across multiple departments, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supply chain, and logistics. The role involves overseeing supply chain dependencies, coordinating supplier launch readiness, and ensuring accurate, audit-ready records within enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in physical and hardware product development and can drive cross-functional alignment without direct authority. This position suits professionals experienced in gate-driven automotive development lifecycles who can build and maintain reporting dashboards using automated tools.

Responsibilities
- Manage the complete governance lifecycle of product changes from engineering approval through multidisciplinary alignment to production implementation
- Evaluate and handle supply chain dependencies while coordinating supplier qualification and readiness
- Collaborate with internal production teams and supplier change management contacts to verify implementation timing, resources, build sequences, documentation, and training
- Keep precise, audit-ready documentation of change decisions, statuses, and approvals in PLM, ERP, and change management systems
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports regarding change pipeline health using scripts or AI tools across spreadsheets and Jira
- Enhance the governance framework, approval checklists, and gate criteria by working alongside IT and business systems teams
Requirements
- 10 or more years of program management experience focusing on hardware product development, bills of materials, component qualification, and manufacturing supply chains
- Fluency in multi-tier automotive supply chains spanning OEM, Tier 1, and Tier 2 or Tier 3 levels
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional programs across engineering, purchasing, supply chain, and manufacturing without direct authority
- Hands-on familiarity with gate-driven automotive program lifecycles and the cost implications of late changes
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets along with the ability to write scripts for automated data retrieval and reporting
- Familiarity with at least one ERP, PLM, or change management tool such as SAP or Windchill
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degree such as an M.S. or MBA in an engineering or technical discipline
- ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 certification
- Experience with CAD or PLM tools
- Background in supplier nomination, dual-sourcing strategy, and supplier development
- Exposure to manufacturing launches, capacity verification, and run-at-rate processes
