Spotify is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Enterprise AI team. This role sits within the Platform organization, which provides the technical foundation, infrastructure, and tools necessary to scale the company and support a massive user base worldwide. Specifically, the Enterprise AI group operates the internal AI platform layer, connecting AI models to corporate systems with a focus on security, governance, identity, and reliability.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and manage platform capabilities that link models, agents, and internal systems. You will lead workstreams such as the Model Context Protocol gateway, build backend services, and develop governance frameworks for auditing and access control. This position suits an engineer with strong backend fundamentals who enjoys building scalable infrastructure and navigating technical ambiguity.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate secure enterprise AI platform capabilities that link AI models, agents, tools, and internal systems
- Take charge of major workstreams including the Model Context Protocol gateway and enterprise context capabilities from design through launch
- Develop dependable backend services, APIs, and integrations for digital workplace AI experiences
- Create scalable approaches to AI governance encompassing identity-aware access, permissions, auditing, and risk management
- Design, test, and evaluate agentic systems and workflows to help employees access information and complete tasks
- Maintain operational ownership of built services while balancing speed, reliability, security, and maintainability
- Collaborate with internal engineers and stakeholders to define technical tradeoffs and turn emerging needs into platform capabilities
- Contribute to team engineering practices, knowledge sharing, and overall AI fluency
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with background in building, testing, debugging, and operating reliable backend systems
- Experience using backend languages such as Python or Go
- Familiarity with designing APIs and integrations across complex system architectures
- Working knowledge of identity and authentication technologies like OAuth, SAML, or SCIM
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure
- Ability to navigate ambiguity independently and make thoughtful technical tradeoffs
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with enterprise SaaS or platform engineering
- Background in LLM integration patterns including tool use, function calling, agentic workflows, or systems-level prompt engineering
