Spotify is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Discovery Mode team within its Music Mission. The Music Mission creates promotional products like Discovery Mode, Marquee, Showcase, Music Videos, and Clips to help artists and labels grow, engage, and monetize their audiences through listener behavior insights. In this position, the selected professional will act as the analytical lead for a machine learning squad focused on measurement systems and campaign optimization.

Responsibilities
- Manage the analytical operations for the Discovery Mode machine learning squad to evaluate and enhance measurement models and campaign optimization.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers to create evaluation frameworks that elevate model reliability, performance, and customer value.
- Plan and execute rigorous experiments to measure model outcomes, assess quality, and direct future development.
- Perform deep-dive analyses on model performance and deliver clear, actionable insights to product and business stakeholders.
- Create and maintain dashboards monitoring model health, program performance, and customer metrics.
- Work alongside product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to match analytical priorities with squad objectives.
- Share best practices with the broader Product Insights community to support analytical standards across Discovery Mode.
Requirements
- Have at least four years of professional background in data science.
- Possess experience in measuring customer outcomes, setting key performance indicators, and linking analytical findings to product decisions.
- Demonstrate the ability to design, implement, and interpret A/B tests with appropriate rigor.
- Show experience evaluating machine learning model performance and working alongside engineers to boost model and customer results.
- Exhibit strong foundational data science skills including Python, SQL, BigQuery, dbt, and data storytelling.
- Bring experience in recommendation systems, advertising measurement, causal inference at scale, or experimentation.
