The Senior Software Engineer for Continuous Deployment will design, build, and operate the platform responsible for moving code from merge to production.
This position suits a hands-on engineer with strong execution skills who can establish standard pathways for software releases while collaborating closely with application teams. The person in this role will eliminate release friction, enhance the overall deployment experience across the engineering organization, and support the scaling of autonomous vehicles to additional cities and riders. Responsibilities include ensuring the operational excellence and reliability of the deployment platform, establishing safety nets, and mentoring peers.
Candidates should bring substantial background in infrastructure, platform, or production operations, alongside expertise in containerized environments and deployment tooling. Responsibilities
- Manage the operational excellence and reliability of the deployment platform
- Develop and oversee the standard pathway for continuous delivery and its underlying safety mechanisms
- Collaborate across functions with application teams and SRE to transition services onto the deployment platform
- Establish technical standards for secure code deployment to production environments
- Mentor fellow engineers on the team
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of software engineering background, featuring substantial experience in infrastructure, platform, or production operations
- Practical background utilizing a continuous deployment system within a large enterprise
- Direct work with Kubernetes and container-based deployments
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Bash
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code instruments including Helm and Terraform
- Strong communication and customer-facing abilities to define plans and guide onboarding
Qualifications
- Experience with Harness, ArgoCD, Spinnaker, or comparable deployment platforms
- Background in developing a multi-tenant internal platform utilized by multiple teams
- Experience transitioning various teams from legacy systems to a new platform
