This position involves hands-on coding using Python and Kotlin alongside artificial intelligence tools, balancing operational reliability with feature delivery. The person in this role will guide quarterly technical planning, resolve complex production matters, and establish code quality standards. Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team objectives by guiding engineers through complex, open-ended challenges
- Partner with product, design, and analytics groups to evaluate technical tradeoffs and constraints
- Identify and resolve project, technological, and business obstacles proactively
- Maintain system operations and availability by setting up metrics, handling escalations, and participating in on-call rotations
- Raise design and code review standards through technical documentation and internal talks
- Mentor team members, support new hires and interns, and contribute to hiring processes
Requirements
- Bring at least 4 years of background in creating, building, and deploying backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin
- Show a proven history of designing highly available distributed architectures utilizing tools such as Kubernetes, AWS, and MySQL
- Demonstrate the capability to define technical strategies for rolling out major components with clean and extensible designs
- Display proficiency in making large-scale codebase modifications safely using established development practices
- Possess strong verbal and written communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration
