Responsibilities

Manage a team of senior engineers focused on developing next-generation media processing stacks
Drive technical architecture choices for low-latency and high-throughput media systems
Partner with product, platform, and other engineering teams to outline technical roadmaps
Set engineering standards for code quality, testing methodologies, and operational reliability
Coach engineers and provide technical direction regarding intricate media processing hurdles
Manage technical debt alongside feature development while upholding service reliability
Oversee service performance metrics, reliability objectives, and continuous improvement projects
Align media platform capabilities with broader Voice strategy alongside engineering leaders

Requirements

At least five years of engineering management experience leading distributed systems teams
Familiarity with Voice and VoIP infrastructure along with media handling complexities
Strong technical background in architecting, building, and operating scalable backend services under strict SLOs
Deep comprehension of systems design, microservice architecture, and cloud infrastructure
Demonstrated history of delivering critical infrastructure projects with high technical complexity
Experience improving developer velocity using artificial intelligence tools
Proficiency in performance optimization, reliability engineering, and operational excellence
Strong communication skills suited for both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with at least one of the following: real-time communications systems, media processing, or streaming technologies

Qualifications

Experience using SIP, RTP, RTCP, or other communication protocols
Familiarity with media codecs, transcoding, packet loss concealment, and audio processing
Background in designing low-latency, globally distributed systems
Proficiency with systems programming languages like Rust, Java, or C/C++
Familiarity with platforms such as Asterisk or gStreamer
Experience developing Voice AI products
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure on AWS or similar platforms
Prior background in telecommunications or communications platforms
