Pinterest is hiring an SDET II for tvScientific, a CTV advertising platform designed for performance marketers. In this full-time, on-site role located in San Francisco, the engineer will own and drive quality across web platform features, user interfaces, backend services, and application programming interfaces. The position requires a combination of manual testing proficiency and automation expertise to validate complex end-to-end user workflows.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with frontend and backend developers, product managers, and designers to build reliable, secure, and performant web systems. Key responsibilities include creating automated test suites, performing rigorous exploratory and regression testing, and integrating testing processes into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines. The role also involves utilizing artificial intelligence tools safely and accountably to enhance daily efficiency and output.

This opportunity is well-suited for quality engineering professionals with a background in web platform and application programming interface validation. Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive quality for web platform features covering user interfaces, application programming interfaces, and backend services.
  • Design and perform manual test cases and exploratory testing for intricate workflows.
  • Execute thorough regression testing after bug fixes.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites to check frontend and backend integration, data consistency, and error handling.
  • Perform application programming interface contract testing, schema validation, and negative or edge-case testing.
  • Partner with engineers during design, implementation, and code reviews to enhance testability.
  • Incorporate automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines for prompt feedback.
  • Investigate test failures and track software defects using tools such as Jira.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering focused on web platforms and application programming interfaces.
  • Hands-on background in manual testing of complex, consumer-facing web applications.
  • Experience creating and maintaining application programming interface tests using frameworks like Postman, REST-assured, or Supertest.
  • Practical experience with web automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
  • Solid knowledge of Hypertext Transfer Protocol, Representational State Transfer, and interface design principles.
  • Fluency in at least one programming or scripting language like JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Ability to use artificial intelligence to improve speed and quality in daily workflows while maintaining high integrity and ownership of deliverables.
