In this role, interns work alongside engineering, product, design, and research teams to shape future product offerings. Responsibilities
- Evolve the product roadmap by performing exploratory data analysis to understand user behavior and trends
- Design and implement core metrics that serve as north stars for team initiatives
- Develop and evaluate A/B experiments alongside alternative experimentation techniques
- Gather preferences and signals from pinners, merchants, creators, and advertisers using surveys and modeling approaches
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to build new user experiences
Requirements
- Currently pursue a PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, applied sciences, computer science, or a related field
- Demonstrate the ability to manipulate large, highly complex and dimensional datasets
- Show fluency in SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R
- Solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches including machine learning, statistical modeling, forecasting, or econometrics
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical partners
- Apply critical thinking when utilizing AI-generated suggestions, validating correctness, performance, security, and maintainability
- Connect data analysis directly to business problems to influence performance
