Pinterest is looking for an Engineering Manager II to lead its Config Deployments team in Seattle. In this role, you will oversee the group responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure platforms that handle configuration management, feature flags, and delivery systems for the main platform and its engineers. Pinterest operates a visual discovery platform designed to help users find creative inspiration and plan projects.
The position is suited for an experienced technical leader who enjoys distributed systems, configuration management, and developer experience. Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and support the career growth of an engineering team focused on configuration distribution and service coordination systems
- Align strategic priorities across stakeholders and convert user needs into a practical roadmap for mission-critical infrastructure
- Drive execution efficiency, autonomously mitigate risks, and empower direct reports to lead projects
- Maintain an inclusive, collaborative team environment and support thoughtful team expansion
- Promote best practices across feature flags, CI/CD, and configuration management
- Incorporate artificial intelligence to speed up strategy drafting, architectural comparisons, research synthesis, and planning
- Automate repetitive management duties such as status reports, document synthesis, and review workflows using AI
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in infrastructure
- 1+ years of engineering management experience
- Background leading teams centered on developer experience improvements through infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to utilize AI to improve speed and quality in daily tasks with verifiable outputs
- Track record of critically evaluating and testing AI-assisted work through quality controls
- Availability to travel to an office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times per quarter

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
