This is a senior individual contributor role designed for a professional with extensive experience in product marketing, product strategy, fintech, or commerce. In this position, the successful candidate will shape portfolio-wide strategy, establish frameworks for go-to-market planning, and lead cross-portfolio initiatives from discovery to commercialization.

Affirm provides consumers and merchants with clear, predictable ways to handle payments over time without hidden fees. Operating as a remote-first company, Affirm offers a flexible work environment where team members can operate from almost anywhere within the country of employment, though new hires will attend an in-person onboarding experience. The person in this role will act as a connective tissue across product, analytics, revenue, and marketing teams, translating insights from merchants and market data into actionable product priorities and compelling narratives.

The role suits an analytical storyteller capable of influencing senior leadership and designing repeatable operating rhythms. Responsibilities span evolving merchant messaging, leading client advisory boards, equipping revenue teams with training and tools, and managing high-priority commercialization projects such as platform partnerships or market launches.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the merchant story, messaging architecture, and proof points across the portfolio
  • Partner with brand and marketing teams to activate the merchant narrative across key channels
  • Establish operating rhythms to maintain cross-functional alignment during planning, forecasting, and product launches
  • Collaborate with revenue enablement to supply the field with messaging, training, and tools for merchant conversations
  • Direct the client advisory board and oversee broader merchant feedback loops
  • Translate insights from performance data, research, and revenue teams into product priorities and go-to-market decisions
  • Lead high-priority, ambiguous initiatives including platform partnerships and new market launches
  • Act as a culture carrier by setting high collaboration standards and mentoring others

Requirements

  • Possess 12 or more years of experience in product marketing, product strategy, or related fields
  • Demonstrate depth in B2B payments, fintech, commerce, or platform businesses
  • Show a proven track record of setting strategic direction and delivering measurable outcomes for major product portfolios
  • Exhibit strong portfolio storytelling capabilities to simplify complex products for senior leaders and merchants
  • Display strategic and business judgment to turn insights into business cases and investment recommendations
  • Demonstrate self-serve analytical skills including comfort with SQL, dashboards, and AI-assisted analysis
  • Show high AI fluency with experience improving work quality and speed through AI tools
