To help advertisers and users connect seamlessly, the organization seeks an Engineering Manager II to lead the Web Product Enablement team located in Toronto. This position involves managing a specialized group of web platform engineers tasked with building modern, high-performance web solutions for Pinners and advertisers. The chosen candidate will set technical strategies, guide modernization initiatives, and enhance client stability, browser compatibility, and framework currency. Responsibilities also include organizing operational schedules, managing risk, hiring and mentoring team members, and leveraging artificial intelligence to speed up software development workflows while ensuring strict verification and code reliability.

The role requires someone with substantial technical background in web architectures alongside direct experience in team leadership. Candidates must be able to navigate competing stakeholder demands, foster a cooperative environment, and use AI tools responsibly during day-to-day operations. As part of the working model, the person selected must live within a commutable distance from the Toronto office at 85 Richmond St W to attend occasional in-person collaboration sessions. Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and expand a specialized group of web platform engineers
  • Establish the technical vision and roadmap alongside Client Platforms and cross-functional product groups
  • Drive modernization efforts to help product teams adopt modern client architectures
  • Enhance client stability, browser compatibility, runtime frameworks, and dependency currency
  • Set operational rhythms for planning, bi-weekly sprints, risk management, and monthly stakeholder updates
  • Hire, onboard, and develop engineers while building an inclusive and high-performing culture
  • Utilize artificial intelligence to boost engineering workflows while maintaining code quality, security, and reliability

Requirements

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience
  • Technical expertise in Node, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React
  • Experience partnering with Senior or Staff engineers to build impactful roadmaps
  • Experience developing platform or foundations capabilities to raise product engineering productivity
  • Experience aligning priorities across teams and navigating delivery through ambiguity
  • Experience improving engineering quality, client reliability, platform health, or developer productivity
  • Ability to use AI to increase speed and quality while maintaining ownership of final outcomes
  • Living within a commutable distance from the Toronto office at 85 Richmond St W

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
