This is a practitioner-guided, hands-on position well-suited for someone curious about applied artificial intelligence and large language models. The participant will work on live organizational AI tools, track performance metrics, and assist in building an internal governance framework. Additionally, interns will have opportunities to observe professional client-facing demonstrations under mentorship.

The program lasts for 12 weeks as a part-time position working 25 to 29 hours per week between Monday and Friday, aligned with the Eastern Time Zone. Applicants must reside within the United States, excluding specific states mentioned in the posting, and must maintain their own computer equipment and high-speed internet connection.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute evaluation procedures to measure consistency, accuracy, and reliability in agentic AI harnesses
  • Monitor output quality regularly to identify behavioral degradation, output drift, and operational regressions
  • Establish and manage baseline datasets and ground-truth corpora for quality assessment
  • Examine evaluation results to diagnose failure points and coordinate with the NE AI and AppSec divisions on iterative enhancements
  • Investigate and implement prompt assessment methods and LLM benchmarking practices tailored for security harnesses
  • Integrate telemetry tracking into harnesses to measure token usage, latency, error rates, and quality indicators
  • Review telemetry metrics to surface anomalies and gather insights for model optimization
  • Contribute to the creation of an internal AI governance pipeline by logging behaviors, defining standards, and tracking audit trails
  • Maintain written documentation regarding governance workflows, evaluation strategies, and model tuning updates

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree program involving data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related subject
  • Must be physically located within the United States during the entirety of the program, excluding Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming
  • Capacity to work 25 to 29 hours per week on a Monday through Friday schedule supporting the Eastern Time Zone
  • Provision of a personal computer and high-speed internet access for remote work

Qualifications
