The enterprise is currently hiring an on-site VP of Pharmacy Operations based primarily at the Romeoville, Illinois facility, with required travel to additional pharmacy sites in states such as California and Florida.
In this position, the executive will oversee the complete fulfillment strategy and execution across a multi-site pharmacy network. The individual will take full ownership of financial outcomes, regulatory compliance, service levels, patient experience, and operational performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Pharmacy & Logistics Officer, the leader collaborates closely with supply chain, finance, technology, quality and safety, compounding, and patient experience departments. The role requires spearheading continuous improvement, regionalization, and automation initiatives.

This professional must be capable of leading high-performing teams within a complex regulatory landscape. Responsibilities involve managing operational metrics, establishing workforce strategies, directing automation performance, and handling multi-state licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage operational performance across the pharmacy network through forecasting, key performance indicators, and standardized operating procedures
- Spearhead large-scale operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scalability, safety, and delivery experience while lowering costs
- Manage the strategy, uptime, throughput, and capital efficiency of automation systems throughout the network
- Develop network optimization and routing strategies alongside supply chain teams to maximize delivery speed, fulfillment accuracy, and overall network efficiency
- Create and implement workforce planning strategies that align staffing models with productivity goals, automation capacities, and budget limitations
- Build and lead a high-performing operations organization centered on accountability and talent development
- Partner cross-functionally to guarantee seamless execution from initial production to final-mile delivery
- Direct the pharmacy licensing strategy across all operating states, maintaining proactive management of renewals, new licenses, and regulatory obligations
- Guarantee adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Food and Drug Administration, and Board of Pharmacy rules through operational controls
- Drive organizational transformation and change management related to process redesign, scaling, and automation
Requirements
- Bring over 12 years of professional background in fulfillment, supply chain, or pharmacy operations
- Possess substantial multi-site leadership experience
- Demonstrate a history of directing high-volume fulfillment or large-scale mail-order pharmacy operations
- Have extensive background in labor optimization, workforce planning, and scaling operations within high-growth environments
- Understand automation and systems integration thoroughly, including leading implementation or optimization projects
- Possess experience working in heavily regulated sectors with familiarity regarding quality standards, compliance, and pharmacy licensing
- Act as a data-driven leader with robust financial and analytical acumen, including unit economics and operational key performance indicator ownership
