Figma seeks a Strategic Program Manager for its Information Security division to scale security operations and foster cross-functional partnerships. Figma provides a collaborative design platform that helps teams build products, iterate using artificial intelligence, and manage workflows in real time. In this position, the professional will coordinate strategic initiatives across various departments including legal, people, product, sales, and engineering.

This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who excels at navigating ambiguity, driving accountability, and establishing scalable security frameworks. The professional will collaborate closely with security leadership to design portfolio strategies, monitor key performance metrics, and resolve security gaps. This is a full-time position located in Austin, Texas, or available as a remote arrangement within the United States, or from other company United States hubs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic security initiatives from initial planning through completion across business and security groups
  • Collaborate across departments to spot potential security risks and translate priorities into actionable plans
  • Establish and monitor metrics, risk registers, and objectives and key results to provide visibility to leadership
  • Coordinate the mitigation of security gaps by working alongside control owners and stakeholders
  • Design repeatable security processes, change management plans, and operating models
  • Promote security awareness via company-wide training and communication initiatives
  • Assist security leadership with portfolio management, briefing preparation, and strategic planning

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of professional background in security program management, security business partnership, or a related strategic information security function
  • Demonstrated history of guiding complex cross-functional security initiatives from conception to execution
  • Familiarity with information security standards such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or comparable frameworks
  • Ability to articulate security risks and priorities clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience implementing security programs focused on training, awareness, change management, or risk mitigation

Qualifications

  • Prior background aiding technical or security leadership in operations, portfolio management, or as a chief of staff
  • Familiarity with quantitative or enterprise risk methodologies like FAIR
  • Background handling regulatory frameworks such as NIS2 or GDPR, or public company requirements like SOX ITGC
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence, automation, or security tools to enhance workflows and reporting
  • Possession of security credentials such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, or similar designations
