In this role, the intern will support revenue-generating product groups by delivering financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic insights.
This position is suited for individuals pursuing a relevant quantitative discipline who have a strong interest in the cryptocurrency sector and digital asset business models. The person in this role will work closely with multiple departments—such as Data, Treasury, Accounting, Business Operations, and Investor Relations—to help leadership allocate resources and evaluate overall business performance.
Coinbase operates as a remote-first organization, though employees gather quarterly for in-person working sessions known as surges. Candidates should note that the company enforces an application limit of three submissions within any six-month period. Hourly compensation for the position is established at $40 USD.
Responsibilities
- Develop revenue forecasting models for current and new offerings to explain and predict performance outcomes
- Perform quantitative analyses to examine the relationship between revenue segments and broader macroeconomic or crypto market factors
- Design and maintain dashboards that summarize key metrics for year-over-year revenue evaluation
- Collaborate with departments including Business Operations, Data, Accounting, Treasury, and Investor Relations to identify potential risks and business opportunities
Requirements
- Demonstrated financial modeling skills gained via coursework, projects, or past internships, including proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Working knowledge of SQL or business intelligence tools such as Looker or Tableau to independently manipulate and visualize data
- Interest in digital asset business models and crypto markets sufficient to understand revenue drivers
- Familiarity with at least one agentic coding harness, such as Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code, to automate tasks, build workflows, or prototype solutions
- Ability to apply generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight for business outputs
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline
