Responsibilities
- Design and execute the technical strategy for test infrastructure across the engineering organization, prioritizing feedback speed
- Develop and manage core test infrastructure platforms such as test orchestration, flaky-test identification, smart test selection, sharding, and result evaluation
- Achieve measurable gains in test feedback velocity and signal dependability to enable confident code delivery without test reruns
- Manage systems across their lifecycle, encompassing architecture, monitoring, service level objectives, and on-call duties
- Collaborate with internal engineering groups to locate development bottlenecks and convert them into platform enhancements
- Mentor fellow engineers, elevate technical benchmarks, and guide test infrastructure practices
Requirements
- More than 10 years of experience creating and running production software
- Strong foundation in distributed systems with fluency in Go or a comparable programming language
- Demonstrated history of outlining and executing technical strategies for essential systems utilized by multiple teams
- Extensive background in test infrastructure, covering large-scale test execution, test selection trade-offs, sharding, flaky-test detection, and result analysis
- Practical expertise running reliable large-scale systems utilizing Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, containers, and monitoring tools like Datadog
- Proven ability to track platform impact via developer adoption and workflow enhancements, alongside experience maintaining service level objectives and incident response workflows
- Responsible utilization of generative AI with human supervision to produce business-ready results and improve workflow efficiency, quality, and cost
