Ashby is seeking a Staff Product Engineer for the Americas region to join its growing engineering team. Ashby builds intelligent talent acquisition and talent management software used by prominent companies such as Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. In this role, you will take ownership of a large portion of a product and manage projects end-to-end.
This position is well-suited for versatile product engineers who thrive in environments with significant autonomy and minimal meetings. Rather than following traditional Agile processes like sprint planning or t-shirt sizing, engineers at Ashby write product specifications, conduct research, create wireframes, and design solutions. You will handle tasks traditionally managed by product managers and designers, tackling both technical and product ambiguity.
Ashby operates with an almost-no-meeting culture and values high agency, collaboration, and clear written communication. More than 90 percent of the engineering team operates at a senior level or above. The compensation for this full-time role ranges from USD 250,000 to 295,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership over a large portion of a product and drive projects end-to-end
- Handle tasks typically managed by product and design, including competitor research, writing product specs, and creating wireframes
- Build reusable building blocks across the full technology stack
- Collaborate directly with customers to understand requirements and iterate on features
- Distribute customer issues and investigations across the engineering team
