The organization is currently hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the Identity Verification team within the Platform group on a full-time remote basis. This position is suited for an experienced technical leader who thrives in an intensive setting and is prepared to guide critical engineering initiatives.
In this capacity, you will oversee the entire machine learning architecture responsible for verifying documents, individuals, and capture sessions. Your daily duties will involve securing millions of accounts against sophisticated threats during signups, account recoveries, and high-risk procedures. You will steer technical roadmaps end-to-end, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across compliance and product sectors.
Employees are expected to participate in quarterly in-person collaboration events referred to as surges. The employer provides compensation that includes an annual base salary ranging from $218,025 to $256,500 USD, alongside equity eligibility, bonuses, and comprehensive health and retirement benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete identity verification machine learning stack from feature pipelines to production enforcement.
- Develop identity-graph systems utilizing graph neural networks to uncover coordinated fraud and synthetic identities.
- Create behavioral and device-intelligence models for real-time risk scoring, anomaly detection, and classification.
- Steer external vendor machine learning strategies by benchmarking models and establishing internal evaluation layers.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineering personnel while partnering with risk and machine learning platform groups.
Requirements
- Bring at least eight years of professional background deploying production machine learning systems at scale.
- Demonstrate domain expertise in account integrity, biometrics, or identity verification.
- Apply deep machine learning knowledge in a minimum of two areas including computer vision, graph neural networks, sequence models, or natural language processing.
- Possess expert-level Python coding capabilities alongside production exposure to PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Show a history of translating anti-money laundering and know-your-customer regulations into engineering roadmaps.
