Job Description

This position centers on shaping the infrastructure behind institutional and retail trading environments. The selected professional will design and support core components including order and execution management systems, algorithmic execution capabilities, settlement layers, and multi-venue connectivity. The work demands continuous focus on latency reduction, high-throughput messaging, reliability, and risk mitigation.

Ideal candidates possess extensive background engineering distributed systems and trading platforms from the ground up. Professionals accustomed to high-availability environments where precision and speed are critical will find this opportunity engaging. The role involves setting high engineering standards, mentoring peers, and collaborating across departments such as product development, risk management, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Own the architecture for the complete trading platform covering sequencers, low-latency messaging, order and execution management systems, and multi-venue connectivity.
Design high-throughput and low-latency systems intended for real-time financial use across retail and institutional markets.
Manage service level objectives, system observability, and incident response procedures.
Establish engineering standards through code creation, design reviews, and technical debt reduction.
Mitigate single-point-of-failure risks and foster team resilience via mentorship.
Collaborate with Product, Risk, Security, and Compliance departments to translate technical strategies into actionable roadmaps.

Requirements

Hands-on architectural capability to design, deploy, and maintain 24/7 trading systems handling billions of dollars daily.
Extensive background in backend engineering with documented ownership of complex distributed systems in production.
Proven history of architecting end-to-end trading platforms rather than single gateways.
Advanced proficiency in low-latency Java and high-throughput messaging tools like Aeron or SBE.
End-to-end project delivery experience encompassing scoping, architecture, implementation, monitoring, and iteration.
Background working in regulated or financial settings where auditability, correctness, and low latency are essential.
Experience making user-facing product decisions balancing trade-offs and quality.
Responsible utilization of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
