Currently, Vercel is seeking a Solutions Architect to join its Field Engineering team on a full-time, on-site basis.
In this position, you will operate as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients throughout both pre-sales and post-sales cycles. You will collaborate closely with sales representatives to evaluate technical suitability, create target architectures, and run evaluations. After the sale, you will act as a technical coordinator, guiding client adoption, implementation decisions, and standardization.
This role suits professionals with strong technical backgrounds who can communicate effectively with both executive leadership and engineering teams. You will handle complex cloud and web architectures, assist with AI and web workloads, and feed customer insights back into product and engineering roadmaps. The position also involves some travel for client on-site visits and industry events.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales department to lead technical discovery sessions and shape solution strategies.
- Design target architectures for modern agentic workflows, artificial intelligence, and web applications on the Vercel platform.
- Develop and present customized demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops.
- Manage proofs of concept and pilots from beginning to end, including setting success criteria and removing technical obstacles.
- Serve as the primary post-sale architect for strategic accounts to steer onboarding, reference implementations, and migrations.
- Advise clients on reliability, performance, and cost optimization utilizing metrics like Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals.
- Contribute to team playbooks, reusable assets, and cross-regional standardisation patterns.
- Coordinate architecture, security, and compliance reviews alongside internal specialists.
- Provide product and engineering teams with feedback gathered from client interactions.
- Create internal enablement materials and external content such as blog posts and reference architectures.
Requirements
- Demonstrated professional background in a client-facing technical function such as a solutions architect, sales engineer, or platform architect.
- Hands-on expertise working with JavaScript or TypeScript and contemporary web frameworks, preferably Next.js.
- Solid understanding of web security, networking, caching, and performance concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience managing intricate technical projects with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced settings.
Qualifications
- Background in constructing artificial intelligence-powered applications or agentic workloads using tooling like the AI SDK.
- Production experience operating or deploying Next.js or similar frontend frameworks on Vercel or comparable platforms.
- Experience collaborating with companies that utilize composable architectures like headless CMS, commerce, or analytics providers.
- Cloud or architecture certifications such as Cloud Solutions Architect credentials.
- Familiarity with privacy and security standards such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, or SOC 2.
