Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer for its EAA Compliance CXAE team within the Platform group. The company operates with a mission to increase economic freedom and focuses on cryptocurrency and financial services. In this position, the professional will develop AI-driven applications and services that support customer experience compliance operations. The role involves building platforms, integrations, and tools designed to help agents handle customer issues and Know Your Customer workflows with improved accuracy and scale.

The successful candidate will take charge of full-stack feature delivery utilizing Golang and React, integrate third-party vendors, and enhance productivity for a large customer base. The working environment is described as fast-paced and demanding, with expectations that employees participate in quarterly in-person collaboration sessions known as surges. Although Coinbase maintains a flexible remote posture for many positions, this specific job requires the person to be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This opportunity is well-suited for a software professional who enjoys working on distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and event-driven architectures. Candidates must be comfortable collaborating across cross-functional teams including product, design, security, and data units. Additionally, the role involves guiding and mentoring fellow engineers regarding design patterns, testing strategies, coding standards, and deployment best practices to elevate overall team performance.

Responsibilities

Manage the complete development lifecycle for user-facing features within the compliance agent platform using cloud technologies, React, and Golang.
Evaluate, choose, and integrate third-party vendor tools to expand platform functionality.
Collaborate with security, product, design, and data departments to solve complex customer experience and compliance challenges.
Construct and upkeep scalable services using caching, load balancing, event-driven architectures, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Mentor engineering personnel on coding standards, design patterns, deployment procedures, and testing methods.

Requirements

Possess at least two years of professional software engineering experience creating web applications.
Have working knowledge of a frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue along with a modern backend language like Golang, Python, or Java.
Understand cloud infrastructure environments including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Demonstrate familiarity with containerized deployment platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker.
Bring experience with distributed systems concepts such as API integrations, event-driven architectures, or caching.
Must be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
