Vercel is seeking a Senior Technical Account Manager to join the Forward Deployed Engineering organization within Professional Services. In this billable and customer-funded position, the incumbent acts as the named, persistent technical owner for mission-critical customer workloads across a portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts.
This role serves as a peer to customer CTOs and VPs of Engineering, coordinating Vercel's internal workstreams across Engineering, Product, Support, and Sales. Responsibilities include running structured cadences, managing post-incident technical triage, leading proactive risk identification and cost optimization, and coordinating broader Vercel engagements such as Forward Deployed Engineers and Professional Services projects. The person in this role reports to the Head of Professional Services and operates within either the Americas or EMEA region.
The position suits professionals with extensive experience in client-facing technical functions like Solutions Architecture, Technical Account Management, or Developer Success. Ideal candidates possess strong foundational knowledge of cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, excel at cross-functional communication, and can translate technical concepts into executive summaries. Travel is required approximately four to eight times per year for client meetings and roadmap workshops.
Responsibilities
- Own the post-sales technical relationship for a portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts through structured handovers from Solutions Architects
- Run weekly cadence calls, monthly business reviews, quarterly business reviews with technical leadership, and annual roadmap workshops
- Lead post-incident pattern ownership, root cause analysis, and remediation roadmaps for escalated issues
- Respond to P1 and P2 escalations within four business hours in the local time zone
- Drive proactive technical strategy, cost and usage optimization, architectural guidance, and pre-launch readiness assessments
- Scope and orchestrate broader Vercel engagements including Forward Deployed Engineers and Professional Services projects
- Act as the internal voice of the customer to translate technical needs into actionable product and engineering feedback
- Drive platform adoption and usage to support engagement renewals and meet a target 90 percent plus renewal rate
Requirements
- Have five or more years of experience in a customer-facing technical role at a platform, infrastructure, or developer tools company
- Demonstrate personal ownership of strategic relationships including QBRs, technical roadmaps, workshops, and renewals
- Bring production-grade architectural reasoning experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Possess fluency in build and deploy paths such as CI/CD pipelines, environment and preview strategies, and release mechanics
- Demonstrate the ability to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar technical products and earn customer trust
- Willingness to travel approximately four to eight times per year for in-region client office visits
Qualifications
- Prior production experience with Next.js and Vercel
- Prior experience as a Technical Account Manager at a hyperscaler, infrastructure platform, or developer-tools company
- Hands-on experience with AI agent development using the Vercel AI SDK, MCP servers, or similar frameworks
- Experience running annual technical roadmap workshops or Well-Architected Review style engagements with enterprise customers
- Experience transitioning from a delivery or support role into a customer-owning role
