Coinbase is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join its Financial Services and Loyalty team within the Consumer and Business group. Operating on a remote-first basis with periodic in-person working sessions known as surges, Coinbase works to boost economic freedom worldwide. In this role, the designer will take charge of the Coinbase One membership pillar, which currently serves over one million paid subscribers. The selected candidate will direct end-to-end design for the member home, engagement surfaces, and retention pathways across both web and mobile platforms.
This position is well-suited for a seasoned individual contributor who can guide high-priority initiatives, such as the member home redesign, and establish a personalized, ongoing destination for subscribers. The role involves shaping gamification mechanics, discovery surfaces, and promotional events like Member Month to boost benefit attachment rates and minimize subscriber churn. Professionals in this position will work closely alongside engineering, product management, and product creative peers to deliver polished features rapidly while maintaining a unified long-term vision across multiple entry points and surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end design for the Coinbase One member home, engagement surfaces, and retention flows across mobile and web platforms
- Lead the member home redesign initiative to establish a persistent and personalized subscriber destination
- Design discovery surfaces, gamification mechanics like challenges and streaks, and campaign expressions including Member Month to enhance benefit attach rates
- Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to shape product roadmaps, define scope, and ship high-quality features quickly
- Collaborate with Product Creative to establish the visual style and aesthetic for key campaign moments
- Participate in design critiques, peer reviews, and contribute to the broader team culture as a senior individual contributor
Requirements
- Possess at least five years of product design experience shipping consumer-facing products at scale across both web and mobile
- Provide a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design from strategy through execution, showing clear UX thinking and visual craft
- Bring previous experience designing membership, loyalty, engagement-driven products, subscriptions, rewards, or retention features
- Demonstrate the ability to ship iteratively within ambiguous problem spaces while preserving a cohesive long-term vision
- Show proven collaboration directly with engineering teams while integrating technical constraints into design choices
- Exhibit systems thinking across multiple entry points and surfaces to create cohesive cross-platform experiences
- Utilize generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs that improve workflow efficiency, quality, and cost
